Counselling for
anxiety and self-esteem
Online and in Exeter

Empowering therapy for adults in their 20s and 30s who are ready to truly understand themselves and build a life they can thrive in.

Counselling with Rhi

Overwhelm, uncertainty and that constant quiet voice that tells you 'I'm not good enough' are causing you to feel stuck.

If you're here, you're probably ready for change but unsure of where to start.

Maybe you’ve been labeled as over-sensitive, anxious or an over thinker.

Or, if you've gotten so good at people pleasing that you’re not sure what makes you truly happy anymore.

If you're fed up of feeling like you're always just about managing, constantly bracing for the worst, replaying conversations and worrying what others think, then you don't have to keep doing this alone.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

My approach uses Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt, CBT, creative techniques, and inner child work. This means I can adapt to create a style that works for you and what you want from counselling.

Some sessions might involve talking through what's been weighing on you. Others might use creative exercises to understand patterns you can't quite put into words. We might explore narratives you've been carrying since childhood, or work on practical strategies for the moments when anxiety feels overwhelming.

My work is neurodiversity affirming. There's no pressure to have it all figured out and we go at your pace. This is a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and empowered to build a life that actually feels like yours.

How we'll work together

Want to find out more?

Together, we'll get to the root of things so that you can make changes that last.

- You're treated as a person, not a problem to be fixed.
- We work collaboratively and we can take as long as you need to work through things.
- The goal isn't to eliminate all discomfort, it's to help you feel present, capable, and genuinely okay with who you are.

I'll be led by you. We'll work towards your goals, whatever that might mean for you.
Imagine yourself 6-12 months from now, what's different?
- "Not just managing anxiety better, but actually feeling less anxious"
- "Genuinely believing in myself and instead of just getting through each day, actually living enjoying my life"

Practicalities and Session Fee

Each session is 1 hour and they are held online or in person in Exeter. Your sessions can be weekly or fortnightly and we can chat more about the frequency of your sessions during our intro chat. The session fee is £65 per hour. I ask that this is paid up to 48hrs before your scheduled session time as this confirms your appointment.

What will we talk about in the intro call?

What will we talk about in the intro call?

An intro call is a 20 minute free, no obligation chat. We’ll schedule it for a time when you can be in a quiet, confidential place. The call is a chance for us to see if we're a good fit.

We’ll chat about:
- You and your reasons for starting therapy.
- Your hopes and goals.
- What day to day looks like for you currently.
- Any previous therapy and what you liked or didn’t like about those approaches.
- You’ll have plenty of time to ask any questions.
If we feel like this might be a good fit, we’ll then schedule the initial session.

How many sessions should I expect?

How many sessions should I expect?

The benefit of private counselling is that you can choose how long we work together and how frequently you have sessions: weekly or fortnightly. We’ll have regular check-ins to talk about how you feel therapy is progressing and if there is anything you’d like to change or focus on. When the time feels right, I’ll support you in your decision to pause and we’ll close the work with a celebration of all that you have achieved. If ever ‘life happens’ and you feel that you could do with some extra sessions in the future, that’s normal and you’re always welcome back.

How is confidentiality handled?

How is confidentiality handled?

I share a copy of my privacy and safeguarding policy with all new clients. New clients are also sent a counselling agreement which outlines confidentiality, note taking and all other practical aspects. I ask that this is reviewed before our intro session so that you have a chance to raise any queries with me.

I have had just over 10 sessions with Rhi and during that time, with her wonderful help, support and guidance my anxiety improved immeasurably allowing me again to enjoy day to day life. I can't recommend or thank Rhi enough.
